The Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition launches on October 29, 2026. Nintendo revealed it during the Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct on September 8, and it is the first special-edition Switch 2 Nintendo has announced. The game is not included, so the Ocarina of Time remake, out a week later, is a separate purchase.

Price and release date

In the United States, the console costs US$519.99 and arrives on October 29, which is about US$20 above the standard Switch 2. In Japan, Nintendo lists it at 62,980 yen, but that is the Japanese-language system, sold in Japan only. In Germany, MediaMarkt and Saturn list it at €519.99. Nintendo Store

Demand was high. The console sold out quickly at the Nintendo Store and other retailers, and Notebookcheck later reported a restock at the Nintendo Store. Check stock directly before you pay a reseller’s price.
