Gigabyte announced today, October 9, 2026, BIOS support for upcoming Intel processors using the LGA1700 socket, expected to launch in early 2027, across its B760 and H610 motherboard lines.

The announcement confirms rumors that Intel is preparing new processors for 2027 while retaining the LGA1700 socket used by previous generations.

The updates are available for motherboards supporting both DDR5 and DDR4 memory. However, the announcement does not mention other motherboard lines, such as the Z690, Z790, and B660. The new BIOS versions are already available for download from Gigabyte’s website for compatible models.

With RAM prices currently on the rise, continued support for DDR4 motherboards offers a more affordable option for users who already own these components and want to upgrade their processors without replacing their entire system.

Intel had previously indicated that it would continue offering processors for the LGA1700 platform due to demand for DDR4-based systems. In an August interview with Tom’s Hardware, Intel Vice President Robert Hallock highlighted that demand and said Raptor Lake would remain part of the company’s lineup for several years. This strengthens the possibility that current memory prices have influenced Intel’s plans for the platform.

Rumors suggest that Intel may reuse the Raptor Lake architecture for a new processor lineup, tentatively known as Raptor Lake Next.

Gigabyte did not provide details about the new processors’ performance, technical specifications, or pricing. According to the manufacturer, they are expected to launch in early 2027.
