World of Warcraft: Forever Launches November 4 With a Reimagined Azeroth
World of Warcraft: Forever launches November 4 with new zones, 1,000+ quests, nine dungeons, and a level 60 cap. Explore its features and beta access.

World of Warcraft: Forever will launch on November 4, 2026, for PC and Mac, Blizzard has announced. Developed by the team behind WoW Classic, the new experience revisits the foundations of the original MMO with expanded zones, redesigned gameplay systems, and new stories across Azeroth.
Access will be included with an active World of Warcraft subscription or game time. Blizzard is also planning regular updates after launch, adding content for players at different levels while preserving their progress.
A Familiar Azeroth With New Places to Explore
Forever returns players to a reimagined version of early Azeroth, where exploration and the dangers of everyday adventuring are central to the experience.
The world will feature both new areas and expanded sections of existing zones. Among the destinations is Mount Hyjal, which still bears the aftermath of the battle against Archimonde.
Character creation is expanding, too. The new Skyborne elves are exiled high elves who fled their former kingdom and can join either the Alliance or the Horde. Additional race and class combinations include Forsaken paladins and dwarf shamans, opening new options for players building their next character.

More Than 1,000 New Quests and Nine New Dungeons
Blizzard’s fact sheet lists more than 1,000 new quests, alongside nine new dungeons and an endgame that begins with two new max-level raids.
Redesigned talent trees will let players customize their characters’ strengths and abilities, while new equipment and items will provide rewards throughout the leveling journey and in encounters with powerful bosses.
The additions give returning players new reasons to explore familiar territory. Existing zones will contain previously unexplored areas, with fresh quests and stories extending beyond the routes veterans already know.
Level 60 and Permanent Progression
The level cap in World of Warcraft: Forever is 60, and Blizzard is emphasizing permanent progression and a pace that players can set for themselves.
The studio describes an experience built around starting out as an ordinary adventurer. A pack of wolves or a duel outside Southshore can represent a meaningful challenge, keeping attention on the journey through the world.
A new legacy system will provide account-wide rewards based on progress across multiple characters. Blizzard also highlights a camping feature intended to help players make connections with other adventurers.
Post-launch updates are planned to introduce content across the level range. That approach places continued development of the wider world alongside new challenges for characters who have reached the cap.

Updated Graphics Preserve the Original Atmosphere
Forever will also refresh Azeroth’s presentation with improved lighting and global illumination effects, volumetric fog, light shafts, and flowing, reflective water.
Terrain shadows will respond to the movement of the sun, adding another visual change to familiar landscapes. Blizzard says these upgrades are designed to retain the atmosphere of the original World of Warcraft while giving its environments more detail.
Beta Access Begins September 17
Players who want an early look can access the beta beginning September 17, 2026, through the Skyborne Epic Pack or Warcraft Forever Collection.
Blizzard’s edition breakdown lists access to the Skyborne race and its starting experience among the paid upgrade benefits. The subscription requirement covers access to Forever itself; the optional editions provide additional content and benefits.
The Warcraft Forever Collection also includes Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign, connecting the package to the strategy games behind Azeroth’s early history. Blizzard’s edition announcement, reproduced by Blue Tracker
