Forsaken Paladin Joins Multiplayer for Free

The release introduces the Forsaken Paladin, Warcraft III’s first new hero in more than two decades. The hero is available at no additional cost in multiplayer, with support for Classic, Definitive Edition, and Reforged graphics. That free multiplayer addition is separate from the paid campaign expansion. HIVE’s announcement coverage

Definitive Edition Updates Graphics and Performance

Launching alongside Forsaken Kingdom, the Definitive Edition update is free for existing Warcraft III: Reforged owners.

It introduces dynamic lighting, improved shadows, and performance optimizations. The new graphics mode replaces Classic HD and aims to preserve the original game’s distinctive visual style. Classic refers to a graphics option here; it should not be confused with support for an unmodified original installation. HIVE’s update overview

World Editor Gains New Creation Tools

Mapmakers also receive a cinematic editor, a lighting editor, improved management of environmental objects, and Alpha Tiles support.

However, the Definitive Edition asset kit requires ownership of Forsaken Kingdom, a purchase requirement creators should check before planning projects around the new assets. HIVE’s editor feature list

Does Forsaken Kingdom Include the Base Game?

Forsaken Kingdom requires Warcraft III: Reforged to play. Purchasing the expansion alone does not provide the required base game, so newcomers need to own Reforged separately or select a bundle that explicitly includes both products. Battle.net product listing

PC Gamer reports a US launch price of $30 for the expansion. Existing Reforged owners can access the free update without purchasing the new campaign. PC Gamer
